Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist to join our team at Henry Ford Hospital. As a key member of our anesthesia department, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and anesthesia services in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer intravenous, inhalation, and regional anesthetics to render patients insensible to pain during surgical procedures, obstetrical deliveries, or other medical and dental procedures.
  • Provide airway management services as needed throughout the hospital.
  • Lead the professional practice setting and support the professional development of peers and colleagues.
  • Delegate tasks to assistive personnel in a respectful professional manner.
  • Collaborate with the anesthesia/surgeon/perioperative team in the selection of appropriate interventions.
  • Interact with members of the healthcare team to plan and coordinate perioperative care.
  • Promote a healthy work environment through professional communication standards, commitment to coworkers, and positive problem resolution.
  • Conduct pre-anesthetic assessments and document findings.
  • Determine the appropriate anesthetic plan of management and manage all aspects of anesthesia care.
  • Maintain complete and accurate documentation of care for all procedures.
  • Provide airway management and/or intubations for emergent, non-emergent, and resuscitation situations.
  • Anticipate and exceed patients' and customers' expectations that meet all elements of the Henry Ford Experience.
  • Identify services and care improvement ideas and act on them to create excellent customer experiences.
  • Demonstrate, support, and assume personal accountability for consistently upholding team members to the standards across the System and adhering to Henry Ford Health policies and procedures.
  • Recognize the unique contribution all healthcare team members contribute to the patient experience.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Graduation from an accredited school of anesthesia.
  • Master's degree required.
  • Ability to work harmoniously in collaborative situations with anesthesiologists and other healthcare providers.

Physical Demands/Working Conditions

Frequent walking, bending, lifting may be required to perform duties. Work is generally in an operating room environment, but can be in Radiology, ICU, ER, or wherever nurse anesthesia services are required in the hospital. Working conditions are variable with exposure to communicable diseases and other hazards. Driving may be required, dependent on specialty.
