Job Summary

We are seeking a qualified Adult Education Teacher to provide instruction to male supervisees at Greensville Correctional Center. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering quality education that meets the needs of the students in basic adult education and GED standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individual and group instruction to students
  • Maintain accurate records and submit timely reports
  • Manage and supervise aides and students in a classroom setting
  • Ensure compliance with all DOC regulations
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a relevant educational field
  • Demonstrated ability to teach and engage students
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise students and aides in a classroom setting
  • Virginia Collegiate Professional or Postgraduate Professional Teaching license from the Virginia Department of Education or qualify for reciprocity from another state
Preferred Qualifications
  • Current Teaching License with an endorsement in Adult Education, Special Education or academic subject(s)
  • Master's degree in a relevant educational field
  • Experience teaching adults and/or youth
  • Experience in a correctional or alternative education setting
