Job Title: Resident Assistant

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Resident Assistant to join our team at The Bridge at Farmington. As a Resident Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing quality assisted living services to our residents, focusing on maximizing their individual capabilities in accordance with all laws, regulations, and our community standards.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist residents with activities of daily living, such as dressing, toileting, hair care, and bathing, as designated in their care plan.
  • Read and review the 24-hour log at the beginning of each shift to ensure care needs are being met.
  • Makes routine rounds as scheduled and checks with residents to ensure their care needs are being met.
  • Assist residents with clothing choices appropriate for the day's weather, ensuring they are clean and stain-free.
  • Assist with incontinent residents, routinely checking clothing and linens to keep them clean and dry.
  • Assist residents with ambulation and use of walkers, canes, wheelchairs, etc.
  • Assist residents during meal times in the dining area.
  • Encourage residents to participate in activities.
  • Shampoo hair weekly if not done by a beautician.
  • Makes beds daily and performs light housekeeping duties in resident apartments and common areas as designated.
  • Prepares residents for activities, meals, appointments, etc.
  • Delivers meals and assists with set up or feeding as needed.
  • Verifies residents are present for meals and checks on those not attending unless notified otherwise in advance.
  • Reports all changes in resident conditions to the Nurse, Resident Care Director, or Executive Director.
  • Welcome new residents and assist with their adjustment to our community.
  • Assist residents with packing/unpacking (storing, labeling, and inventorying belongings upon move-in).
  • Compliant with infection control guidelines.
Requirements:
  • Must enjoy serving seniors.
  • Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm, as well as a willingness to handle difficult residents.
  • Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
  • Must perform efficiently and effectively with little to no supervision.
  • Maintains professional working relationships with all associates, vendors, etc.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information.
  • Displays integrity and professionalism by adhering to our Code of Ethics and completes all required compliance training.
