About the Role

As a Maternal Child Float Nurse at Penn State Health - Hershey Medical Center, you will play a vital role in supporting a variety of clinical units as part of daily operations. You will be deployed in response to unpredictable absences, vacancies, and/or fluctuating acuity, and will be compensated for your expertise and flexibility to meet these ongoing demands.

You will be trained to staff multiple units, including Pediatric Progressive Care, Pediatric Surgical Care, Pediatric Hematology & Oncology, Pediatric Intensive Care, and Intermediate Care, Neonatal Intensive Care, Pediatric Perianesthesia, and Women's & Babies Center- Postpartum and Newborn Nursery.

Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care transitions
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay up-to-date on best practices
  • Contribute to a culture of excellence and respect
Requirements
  • Currently licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse by state of employment or holds a multistate RN license through the interstate Nurse Licensure Compact
  • Associate's degree in Nursing
  • AHA BLS prior to end of orientation period
Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional certification in field of specialty, ie. CCRN
  • Minimum three (3) years experience: RN positions in pediatrics and/or Women's & Babies, inpatient hospital experience preferred
