Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and working collaboratively with our healthcare team to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.

Responsibilities
  • Provide Respiratory Care: Administer oxygen therapy, manage ventilators, and perform other respiratory-related tasks to ensure patient comfort and safety.
  • Collaborate with Healthcare Team: Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
  • Conduct Patient Assessments: Evaluate patient respiratory status and develop plans to improve lung function and overall health.
  • Operate Respiratory Equipment: Use ventilators, oxygen concentrators, and other respiratory equipment to provide life-sustaining care to patients.
  • Document Patient Information: Accurately record patient data, including respiratory status, treatment plans, and outcomes.
Requirements
  • Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NBRC, and IN license required.
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist.
  • Skills: Strong communication and teamwork skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and proficiency in Cerner documentation system.
Work Environment

This is a split shift position, with half of the contract requiring dayshift work and the other half requiring nightshift work. The work setting will be in an Adult ICU environment, with opportunities to work in Trauma, Teaching hospital, and ER settings.
