Cayuga Health System is seeking a skilled and compassionate Operating Room Registered Nurse to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and contributing to the success of our organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Consult with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans.
  • Assess patient physical condition, reviewing history and physical, vital signs, and diagnostic studies, and reporting any abnormalities.
  • Conduct pre- and post-operative education, assessing knowledge levels, ability to understand, and coping mechanisms of patients and their support systems, and educating as needed.
  • Utilize Universal Protocol per Cayuga Medical Center policy.
  • Communicate and document monitoring and physiologic responses to interventions, such as medications, vital signs, and skin color, to alert surgeons and anesthesiologists of changes that may require medical intervention.
  • Demonstrate adherence to infection control policies and correct hand washing/scrubbing technique.
  • Demonstrate ability to effectively communicate with other departments, including Main Campus or SC, ED, Radiology, ICU, and others.

Requirements:

  • Active New York Nursing license or ability to obtain.
  • Associates Degree in Nursing.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications.

Physical Requirements:

Repetitive use of hands and fingers, lifting and carrying light loads (up to 40 lbs), sitting, walking, or standing for long periods of time, and operating equipment used for the job.

Location and Travel Requirements:

Onsite.

Pay Range Disclosure:

$39.63 to $48.18 per hour.
