Job Summary:

This is a senior-level position in the Child Welfare department of Clear Creek County, Colorado. The successful candidate will provide a full range of intake and ongoing social casework services for a variety of Title XX program areas, including child abuse, neglect cases, youth-in-conflict cases, and adult protection.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct Investigations: Conduct thorough investigations of alleged physical abuse, neglect, and parent conflicts to determine if situations warrant placing children outside the home.
  • Supervise Placements: Supervise the placement of children and coordinate parent/child visits to determine when and if to recommend that children return to the home.
  • Develop Case Plans: Develop effective case plans, provide counseling and referral services to families, and assess new child abuse or re-abuse complaints.
  • Provide Intake Services: Provide intake assessment and evaluation, ongoing counseling services, and case planning to a variety of other cases, including adult protection, family conflict, and youth-in-conflict.
  • Monitor Client Progress: Determine the need for recommending placement of clients, locate placement appropriate to client's needs, and monitor client's progress in placement.
  • Provide Ancillary Services: Provide ancillary services, such as recruiting new foster parents, conducting daycare licensing studies and certifications, and monitoring quality of care provided in foster homes.
  • Prepare Court Reports: Prepare court reports providing updates and recommendations based on clinical assessment and give expert testimony.
  • Develop Reports: Develop and write reports for appropriate documentation of case plans, recommendations, contacts, assessments, etc.
  • Participate in On-Call Schedule: Participate in a weekly rotating on-call schedule for after normal business hours.
Requirements:
  • Education: A Master's degree in one of the human behavioral science fields or a Bachelor's degree in one of the human behavioral science fields with four (4) years of experience.
  • Experience: Minimum of two (2) years casework experience, with one year of full journey-level work.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of agency policies, laws dealing with child abuse, neglect, and other dependency conditions, regulations, procedures, basic function of service delivery and intervention, child development, and community resources.
Working Conditions:

This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent deadlines and changing priorities. The successful candidate must be able to maintain a high level of professionalism, work effectively in a team environment, and communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and supervisors.
