Job Summary

The Associate Engineer is a key member of the Gas ENG Welding Center of Excellence team, responsible for ensuring the efficient execution of welding processes within a pipeline construction environment. This role requires a strong understanding of welding codes, standards, and regulations, as well as excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Examine, design, and evaluate welds to ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards
  • Develop and implement welding procedures and processes to improve efficiency and quality
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop welding manuals, procedures, and specifications
  • Assist in root cause investigations and lessons learned to improve welding processes
  • Perform other related tasks and assignments as required
Qualifications
  • Master's or Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
  • 2 years of full-time work experience in engineering, construction, or operations area
  • Minimum 2 years of experience with materials selection, metallurgy, multi-disciplinary collaboration, welding automation/robotics, and welding codes/standards compliance
  • Computer literacy and ability to direct the usage of electronic computer-based analytical simulations
  • Demonstrated ability in managing and reviewing welding procedures, welding procedure qualifications, and generating welding procedures
  • Certified Welding Inspector or ability to get certified within a year
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working productively and effectively in a team environment
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Certified Welding Engineer (CWEng), American Welding Society
  • Certified Radiographic Interpreter (CRI), American Welding Society
  • ASNT NDT Level I/II, American Society for Nondestructive Testing
Physical Demands

The Associate Engineer will be required to sit or stand to use a keyboard, mouse, and computer for the duration of the workday. Ability to read small print and symbols is also required.

The Associate Engineer may be required to respond to Company emergencies by performing a System Emergency Assignment to restore service to our customers. Must be able and willing to travel to attend meetings/conference as necessary on Company business.
