HPC Hardware Technical Deployment Specialist

Job Description:
This role has been designed as 'Hybrid' with an expectation that you will work on average 2-3 days per week from an HPE office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work as part of a team to install and deploy small, medium and large-scale high-performance computing systems in various customer locations in North America.
- Responsible for rack/stack, connecting and cabling system according to point-to-point cabling maps and SCHD specifications.
- Power up, validate and run health checks on HW, troubleshooting and working to correct any issues.
- Participate in system acceptance, working to resolve any HW fallout on the system.
- Responsible for ordering, returning and managing parts while onsite and following all parts handling policies and procedures.
- Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve issues including HPE Enterprise systems, servers, storage, and networking.
- Operational management tasks including, working to resolve escalations, and clearing blocking issues to enable continued delivery of HPC/datacenter support activities.
- Provide appropriate documentation of tasks and activities and technical outlines.
- Responsible for following all HPE Travel Policies and Procedures.
Requirements:
- Located within 50 miles of a major airport.
- Must be a US Citizen
- Ability to quickly learn and pick up hardware technical requirements as it relates to installation, troubleshooting and break-fix.
- Working knowledge of fiber optic and/or copper cables; able to label, bundle, run and understand point to point mappings.
- Working knowledge of servers, storage, networking in an Datacenter environment.
- Possess strong mechanical aptitude and ability to follow procedures to make component level repairs using ESD best practices.
- Demonstrates a strong team mentality; able to work well with multiple groups.
- Strong organizational skills; ability to manage multiple projects and administrative tasks that align within each.
- Professional written and verbal communication skills.
- Attention to detail with a focus on customer satisfaction.
- Ability to lift 50lbs.
- Ability to stand on ladders.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to operate manual and power hand tools.
Education:
- Minimum Associates Degree or equivalent degree in Electrical Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related area of study.
