Speech-Language Pathologist

We are seeking a skilled Speech-Language Pathologist to join our team at Health Advocates Network. As a School-Based Speech-Language Pathologist, you will play a vital role in assessing, diagnosing, and treating students with communication disorders to enhance their communication abilities and participation in the school environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate students' speech, language, and communication skills within the school setting.
- Collaborate with the school's multidisciplinary team to develop individualized education plans (IEPs) and goals for students with communication disorders.
- Develop and implement evidence-based speech and language therapy interventions and treatment plans to address students' communication challenges.
- Provide direct speech and language therapy services to students, both individually and in small groups, within the school setting.
- Assess and treat a variety of communication disorders, including articulation disorders, language disorders, fluency disorders, and social communication disorders.
- Provide guidance and support to teachers and other school staff on strategies to promote communication skills and facilitate language development in the classroom.
- Collaborate with parents and caregivers to provide education and support for enhancing communication skills at home and in the community.
- Monitor and document student progress, collecting data and maintaining accurate records to track their development and the effectiveness of interventions.
- Attend and actively participate in IEP meetings, providing input on students' speech and language goals, progress, and recommendations for ongoing support.
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist in the state.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) is preferred.
- Experience working with children and adolescents in a school or pediatric setting is preferred.
- Knowledge of speech and language development, communication disorders, and evidence-based intervention strategies in the school-aged population.
- Familiarity with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and the IEP process.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, parents, teachers, and other school staff.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a school environment.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying informed about advancements in the field of speech-language pathology in the school setting.
