Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmaceutical Specialist to join our team at Elevance Health. As a key member of our pharmacy team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the safe and effective use of medications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure adherence to laws and regulations governing the practice of pharmacy and the distribution of medications.
  • Consult with prescribers to provide pharmaceutical care and answer questions from patients regarding medication interactions, side effects, dosage, and storage.
  • Lead the activities of pharmacy technicians and delivery/equipment technicians, and assist with the dispensing and compounding of medications.
  • Plan, implement, and maintain procedures for mixing, packaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals, ensuring quality, security, and proper disposal.
  • Assist with patient delivery and maintain accurate records of medication orders and inventory.
Requirements
  • Requires a Bachelor's or Doctoral degree in Pharmacy and a minimum of 1 year of experience working as a pharmacist in a clinic or alternate site/home health pharmacy service.
  • Requires current active unrestricted license to practice pharmacy as a Registered Pharmacist (RPh) and multi-state licensure if providing services in multiple states.
  • Preferred requirements include sterile compounding experience and a strong understanding of pharmacy regulations and laws.
