Job Title: Resident Director

Umpqua Community College is seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to fill the position of Resident Director. As a key member of our residential life team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the daily management and function of our housing facilities.

Job Summary:

The Resident Director will be responsible for responding to immediate and ongoing needs and issues within the housing facilities. This includes assisting with operations and facilities processes, completing ongoing inventory and health and safety inspections, and working closely with Resident Assistants, the Residential Life Coordinator, and the Director of Housing.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage and maintain the daily operations of the housing facilities
  • Assist with facilities processes and complete ongoing inventory and health and safety inspections
  • Work closely with Resident Assistants, the Residential Life Coordinator, and the Director of Housing
  • Develop and implement programs to enhance the residential experience for students
  • Provide support and guidance to Resident Assistants and other staff members
Requirements:
  • Must have a minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Good disciplinary record
  • Ability to live in residential buildings
  • Ability to balance academic work, college activities, and residence hall responsibilities
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to accept diverse cultures and backgrounds
  • Ability to remain calm in emergency situations
  • Good listening skills
  • Ability to establish clear boundaries between RA role and peers in housing
  • Reliable, dependable, and responsible
  • Maintain confidentiality
  • Base knowledge of college policies and procedures and ability to uphold college policy
  • Ability to work well with others in a collaborative and problem-solving setting
Preferred Qualifications:
  • One year experience as Resident Assistant preferred
