Electrical Design Engineer Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join our team at Hartford Electric Supply. As a key member of our product development team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing electrical systems that meet our high standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work with customer product development teams to create electrical products for production by our manufacturing team.
  • Create comprehensive and accurate documentation, including schematics, control panel layouts, bills of materials, and design specifications when required.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales engineers, customer engineers, and internal production team to ensure the seamless integration of our electrical product solutions.
  • Ensure that all electrical designs comply with NEC industry standards and UL and other regulatory agencies.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements to incorporate cutting-edge technologies into product designs.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering supplemented with Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
  • Proven experience in electrical design of systems with power distribution and controls in the Alternative Energy and Automation markets.
  • Proficiency in CAD tools for development of schematics and layouts, specifically with AutoCAD Electrical.
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, components, NEC codes and UL requirements.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
