Role Overview

This role necessitates a comprehensive understanding and active engagement in fulfilling the mission of Orange Coast Medical Center. The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) serves as an unlicensed caregiver under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Physician. The EMT is responsible for delivering fundamental patient care, which includes, but is not limited to: vital sign assessment, specimen collection, ECG testing, and providing personal hygiene and physical care. EMTs carry out assigned tasks and play a crucial role in facilitating departmental/unit operations that support patient care and ensure a safe, clean environment.

Minimum Qualifications

Experience:

Preferred: One (1) year of experience in acute care settings.

Preferred: Basic computer skills.

Education/Certification:

Preferred: High School Diploma or equivalent.

Required: Current Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification.

Required: Current American Heart Association Basic Cardiac Life Support Card.
