Job Summary

The Environmental Service Worker II position is responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff.

Responsibilities include:

  • Following verbal and written safety guidelines
  • Performing required cleaning functions for designated work areas
  • Documenting daily assignments
  • Flexibility due to changes in schedule and/or staff shortages
  • Demonstrating proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Reporting equipment issues to appropriate personnel
  • Engaging with staff and patients in a professional manner
  • Record keeping and equipment storage
  • Handling regular and hazardous waste, as well as operating waste processing equipment
  • Cleaning sterile areas, such as operating rooms, sterile processing, and MRI
  • Delivering supplies to correct locations
  • Operating laundry equipment and changing curtains
  • Performing various utility duties as assigned

Requirements

To be successful in this role, candidates should have:

  • 1 year of housekeeping and/or service-related experience
  • Floor care experience
  • Able to lift/push/pull 10lbs to 25lbs daily
  • Demonstrate a high level of customer service towards staff and patients
  • Knowledge of electronic devices (computer, tablets, etc.)
  • Ability to read, write, communicate, and understand written instructions given in English
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
  • Must have the ability to plan, initiate responsibilities, and follow through with minimal direction
  • Strong communication skills, attitude, and attendance

Preferred Qualifications

High school diploma or GED is preferred.
