Job Title: Organist (NE)

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Organist to join our team at St. Stephen Church, Bradshaw. As a key member of our liturgical music staff, you will play a vital role in enhancing the worship experience of our parishioners.

Job Summary:

The Organist will be responsible for playing the organ for liturgical celebrations, including Masses, weddings, and funerals. You will also be expected to build a repertoire of music, encourage participation from the parish community, and support the planning of liturgical seasons and special celebrations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Play the organ for three Masses each weekend
  • Build a repertoire of music and encourage participation from the parish community
  • Support the planning of liturgical seasons and special celebrations
  • Maintain equipment and resources
  • Recruit musicians as needed and foster a welcoming environment for newcomers
  • Collaborate with clergy, staff, and volunteers to ensure unity of purpose and harmony among music ministers
Requirements:
  • Knowledgeable of and comfortable with Church music literature in all forms and styles
  • Proficient in Catholic liturgical principles and proficient in organ
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with clergy, staff, and volunteers
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills
  • Possesses a strong, clear vision of how the local Church can worship in prayerful and dynamic ways
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Understanding of and support for the Catholic Church's teaching, mission, and values
