Job Overview

This role is integral to the management of cost and schedule data for the Antarctic Research Vessel (ARV) program, focusing on the evaluation and analysis of performance metrics against established baselines. The EVM Coordinator will play a key role in the initial setup and ongoing configuration of the Earned Value Management (EVM) system, ensuring accurate data mapping between the cost engine and project schedules, as well as overseeing financial imports, rate tables, and variance reporting thresholds.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Program Management and Finance teams to deliver coordinated support and analysis, utilizing performance metrics to enhance program outcomes.
  • Assist in establishing both initial and final integrated Performance Measurement Baselines (PMB).
  • Conduct comprehensive analyses of cost, schedule, and risk, including variance and trend assessments.
  • Import and manage schedule data, resources, and status information from the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS).
  • Review and apply actual project costs to ensure accuracy.
  • Verify cost calculations by applying direct and indirect rates to resources.
  • Support the Program Management team in processing approved changes to the baseline.
  • Perform data quality checks and rectify any discrepancies.
  • Validate Estimates At Complete (EAC) and other critical project data.
  • Generate contract performance reports, including management plans and technical documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Identify and analyze significant variances that may impact reporting thresholds.
  • Provide assistance to Control Account Managers and Program Managers in understanding performance issues.
  • Ensure that actual costs are not recorded for unauthorized or uninitiated work.
  • Maintain accurate records of material performance and costs within the appropriate reporting periods.
  • Prevent unauthorized retroactive changes, except for error corrections as permitted by company policy.
  • Oversee the monthly business calendar to ensure timely completion of steps necessary for producing monthly performance data.
  • Support annual EVM audits conducted by governmental entities.

Qualifications:

A Bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting, engineering, or a related field is required, along with a minimum of three years of experience in EVM project support. Alternatively, candidates with ten years of relevant experience in EVM analysis may be considered.

Requirements: Candidates must be eligible to obtain a DOD SECRET security clearance.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Proficiency in EVM software applications, particularly Project EVM software.
  • Strong analytical capabilities and adeptness in managing data using Microsoft Excel or similar tools.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to produce clear reports, business correspondence, and procedural documentation.
  • Skilled in effectively presenting information and addressing inquiries from various stakeholders.
  • Preferred understanding of shipbuilding or marine construction projects.
