Ground Transportation Operations Manager

Position Overview:
As a pivotal member of the Parking & Ground Transportation Department, your primary responsibility will be to deliver exceptional customer service across all operational facets. This role entails overseeing seamless operations, directing departmental personnel, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Guarantee adherence to established parking, security, cash management, and customer service protocols, ensuring tasks are executed efficiently and effectively.
- Supervise parking operations, respond to environmental changes, and document any discrepancies.
- Address customer inquiries and concerns, providing comprehensive information regarding services and amenities.
- Foster a productive and high-quality work atmosphere.
- Communicate relevant updates and initiatives to staff.
- Reconcile revenue during shifts and prepare daily reports and logs.
- Document losses, employee issues, customer grievances, and other significant matters.
- Conduct preventative maintenance and basic repairs on parking equipment; coordinate major repairs with service providers and maintain maintenance records.
- Oversee the upkeep of parking facilities to ensure cleanliness, safety, and compliance with standards; manage projects to ensure timely and quality completion.
- Monitor third-party contractor activities related to Ground Transportation at terminal curbs and holding areas.
- Inspect vehicles entering service agreements to ensure compliance with airport regulations.
- Supervise snow removal operations, prioritizing tasks for crews and addressing customer requests for assistance.
- Provide coverage for frontline positions as necessary.
- Research and develop recommendations for departmental strategies and initiatives that advance organizational goals.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma required; an associate degree in business, management, accounting, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of three years of customer service experience, preferably in a parking environment.
- At least one year of supervisory experience is required, with a preference for experience in cash handling environments.
- Experience in mechanical, inventory control, or procurement is advantageous.
- A combination of education and experience will be considered.
- Parking Professional Certification must be obtained within one year of hire.
- Valid state driver’s license required, free of serious traffic violations.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to deliver outstanding internal and external customer service.
- Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills; proficiency in English is essential.
- Ability to produce and maintain accurate written reports.
- Professional demeanor with excellent interpersonal skills to build and maintain positive working relationships.
- Technical aptitude for interpreting technical data.
- Proficient in computer applications including spreadsheets, databases, and word processing.
- Ability to operate necessary equipment and troubleshoot technical/mechanical issues.
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Able to manage multiple tasks with accuracy and efficiency under tight deadlines.
- Strong judgment and prioritization skills with minimal supervision.
- Ability to organize information coherently and meaningfully.
- Quick learner, able to retain new concepts effectively.
- Exhibit good moral character and adhere to professional ethical standards in public service.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Frequent wrist and hand movements for keyboarding and office equipment use.
- Ability to perform close work for filing, reading, and computer use.
- Job functions require frequent sitting, standing, and walking; occasional stooping, kneeling, bending, lifting, carrying, and reaching.
- Ability to navigate facilities and areas of responsibility, including toll booths and vehicles.
- Ability to communicate effectively through listening and speaking with customers and colleagues.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain an Airport security badge as a condition of employment.
- Must possess a current, valid driver's license free of serious traffic violations.
- This position is classified as safety-sensitive.
- Regular interaction with airport management, employees, tenants, transportation personnel, and the public.
- Work is performed in various environments including office areas, parking garages, and outdoor lots, with occasional exposure to varying weather conditions.
- Availability for shift work, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays is required.
