Clinical Histology Technician I

We are seeking a skilled Clinical Histology Technician I to join our team at NYU Langone Health. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing tissue specimens for pathological examination. This role requires a strong attention to detail and the ability to work accurately in a fast-paced laboratory environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare tissue specimens for pathological examination
- Participate in quality control and quality assurance activities
- Filing and distribution of blocks and slides
- Inventory management and ordering of supplies
- Utilize laboratory information systems and equipment
- Prepare frozen sections using a cryostat
- Maintain and troubleshoot histology equipment
- Slide cover slipping and labeling
- Special staining and preparation of solutions
Requirements:
NYSDOH licensed as a Certified Clinical Laboratory histotechnician, histotechnologist, technician, or technologist. Associates degree from a relevant course of study as defined by NYS clinical laboratory licensing requirements. 6 months - 1 year of experience in a surgical pathology laboratory. Exposure to computer systems. Good communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree. One-year experience in a surgical pathology laboratory. Certification in Histology. Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
