Key Responsibilities- Curriculum Development: Plan and implement comprehensive educational courses of study, correlating lesson plans, learning activities, and educational materials that meet the individual needs, interests, and abilities of assigned students.
- Instructional Delivery: Teach assigned students in a manner that motivates them to succeed academically and contributes to the development of their intellectual, emotional, and social skills.
- Classroom Management: Establish and enforce appropriate classroom rules and procedures, maintaining clear standards of student behavior to achieve an orderly, functional environment conducive to learning.
- Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with other teachers to evaluate and discuss students' needs and progress, develop lessons and activities, and coordinate instructional efforts.
- Student Support: Work with students, parents, and other staff members to provide support and accommodations for students with special needs, and to integrate teaching plans and strategies into the curriculum.
- Assessment and Evaluation: Assess students' advancement and accomplishments through tests, assignments, observation, and other evaluation methods, preparing progress reports as required.
- Professional Development: Participate in staff meetings, professional development programs, and other activities to enhance teaching skills and stay current with educational best practices.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Bachelor's Degree in Education from an accredited university.
- Valid Alabama teaching certification with appropriate subject area endorsement(s) and grade level.
This is a nine-month year position with a salary as recommended by the Superintendent and approved by the Board. The successful candidate will be required to exert 20-50 pounds of force occasionally, 10-25 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly.
