Position Overview

The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Illinois, College of Medicine at Peoria (UICOMP), is actively seeking qualified candidates for the role of Pediatric Nephrology Faculty. This position is designed for individuals who are passionate about teaching and mentoring medical students, residents, and fellows in the field of Pediatrics and Pediatric Nephrology.

The department is committed to supporting candidates with a research focus, offering protected time for research activities and additional funding opportunities. Faculty members will also have access to resources for career development. Clinical responsibilities will involve providing patient care in both hospital and outpatient settings, alongside administrative duties and university service as assigned.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver diagnostic and therapeutic services to pediatric patients with kidney and urinary tract disorders, hypertension, and related conditions. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care delivery.
  • Design and implement educational initiatives for medical students and residents, focusing on pediatric nephrology.
  • Foster a culture of inquiry and scholarship within the Nephrology Service.
  • Engage in administrative responsibilities and contribute to university service as required.
  • Occasional travel may be necessary between healthcare facilities.
Qualifications
  • MD degree or equivalent from an accredited institution.
  • Eligibility for an Illinois Physician License.
  • Board certification or eligibility in Pediatrics and Pediatric Nephrology.
