Position Overview:

As a key player in the aviation industry, you will be responsible for testing and repairing electrical, electronic, and communication systems during the final assembly phase of aircraft production. Your expertise will contribute to the legacy of excellence at Textron Aviation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize airplane orders, schematic diagrams, engineering specifications, and inspection records to conduct functional tests on a variety of standard and optional electrical and electronic systems with minimal supervision.
  • Remove or install components and wiring for systems including radios, altimeters, transponders, autopilots, automatic direction finders, and weather radar.
  • Load system software and databases, configuring them as necessary.
  • Conduct functional tests using standard test equipment such as resistance and capacitance units, field strength meters, volt-ohmmeters, ammeters, and oscilloscopes.
  • Employ various hand tools to adjust or restore systems to their proper operational state in accordance with accepted shop procedures and engineering requirements.
  • Provide guidance and assistance to fellow employees in troubleshooting mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Ensure the quality of your own work and perform additional related duties as required.

Qualifications:

Education: A high school diploma, equivalent certificate, or bronze level WorkKeys certification is required. Knowledge of electrical and electronic principles, test equipment usage, and the ability to interpret schematic drawings, blueprints, and specifications is essential. Formal training in fundamental electricity and electronics is preferred.

Experience: A minimum of 3-5 years of diverse aircraft experience, including wire bundle routing and installation, is necessary. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to read and understand schematic drawings and basic electrical fundamentals, as well as proficiency in using multimeters.
