We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Health Information Specialist I to join our team at Datavant. As a key member of our data logistics team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and security of patient health information.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process and manage patient health records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and company policies.
  • Respond to requests for patient records, both within the facility and by external sources, retrieving and transmitting them appropriately.
  • Answer inbound and outbound calls, providing excellent customer service and ensuring timely resolution of patient inquiries.
  • Assist with administrative duties, such as data entry, faxing, and mail handling.
  • Meet productivity expectations and adapt to changing priorities and role needs.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn new software systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and compliance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a healthcare environment or related field.
  • Previous production/metric-based work experience.
  • In-person customer service experience.
  • Ability to build relationships with on-site clients and customers.
Working Conditions

This is an on-site role, working in a hospital setting. The ideal candidate will be able to stand and sit frequently throughout an eight-hour period, reach horizontally and vertically for overhead use, and lift 20 lbs.
