Role Summary: The Patient Care Technician will assist in delivering patient care under the guidance of nursing staff. The primary focus is on patient welfare, which involves completing assigned tasks and maintaining effective communication with nursing and respiratory therapy teams to ensure the highest quality of care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute fundamental care tasks under the supervision of licensed nursing personnel, including monitoring vital signs, managing intake/output, providing catheter care, performing CPR, and documenting care accurately.
- Support licensed nurses in fulfilling patients' personal care needs, which encompass hygiene, grooming, nutrition, mobility, and emotional support.
- Deliver safe and effective care while being knowledgeable about each assigned patient, participating in team reports, and adhering to specific care instructions and restrictions.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Preferred certification as a Nursing Assistant.
- 1-3 years of relevant experience, ideally in a healthcare setting.
- Strong organizational skills, teamwork, and attention to detail.
- Proficient in computer usage and basic math.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
