Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Statement Preparation: Oversee the preparation and accuracy of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Accounting Operations Management: Manage and coordinate all accounting operations including Billing, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, and Cost Accounting.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Lead the budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings, and develop and enforce internal controls to maximize protection of company assets, policies, procedures, and workflows.
  • Regulatory Reporting and Audits: Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting and act as the primary point of contact for external auditors.
  • Financial Analysis and Reporting: Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports or statements.
  • Cash Flow and Banking Management: Ensure timely and accurate management of cash flow, banking, and investments.
  • Financial Strategy and Insights: Assist in the development of company financial strategies by providing financial insights and recommendations.
  • Accounting System Evaluation and Improvement: Evaluate accounting and financial systems and software, and implement improvements where necessary.
Qualifications
  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA preferred, with 7-10 years of experience as a Controller or in a senior-level accounting/finance role.
  • Accounting and Financial Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP) and financial reporting, with strong proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP) and MS Excel.
  • Leadership and Communication Skills: Exceptional attention to detail, with strong organizational and leadership skills, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present financial data to executive leadership.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Experience in managing audits, risk management, and corporate compliance programs.
