Job Description

As a Senior CNC Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for developing detailed processes and time standards for production, as well as summary processes for quotation purposes. You will actively secure outside quotations for raw materials and services on new projects.

  • Develop manufacturing procedures, methods, and standards, and oversee their implementation.
  • Responsible for new product introductions, including routed processes, BOMs, In-Process drawings, gaging, and special tooling design/procurement/manufacture.
  • Provide technical support for the design and manufacture of jigs, fixtures, and special tools, including procurement and/or manufacture.
  • Develop testing requirements/procedures to ensure compliance to customer/design specifications.
  • Under the guidance of the Engineering Manager, develop cost justifications to support the procurement of capital and expense items.
  • Support the implementation of new equipment and processes.
  • Consult with and advise shop supervision on problems related to methods, tooling, and handling to eliminate production difficulties.
  • Proactively work to avoid problems and prepare for upcoming jobs in advance of their scheduled start dates.
  • Perform value analysis on existing designs and make recommendations to reduce overall product costs.
  • Support Cellular Manufacturing and take a leadership role in Set-up reduction.
  • Participate in the MRB process by dispositioning rejects and creating necessary reworks instructions.
  • Implement Engineering Change Orders in a timely manner following set procedures.
  • Serve as the primary interface with Customers and Suppliers regarding manufacturing issues.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree preferred, can be bypassed with extensive experience.
  • A minimum of four years' experience in manufacturing engineering, including tooling and fixturing design background.
  • Three or more years of conventional lathe, mill, and CNC machining experience.
  • CAD and Microsoft Office skills are required.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills are required.
  • Lean/Six Sigma Green Belt or higher is a plus.
  • Knowledge of AS9100 standards is a plus.
