We are seeking a skilled Per Diem Histology Laboratory Technician to join our team at IDEXX Laboratories. As a key contributor, you will play a vital role in preparing veterinary tissue samples for diagnosis, working on various benches, and collaborating with colleagues to ensure accurate and timely results.
Responsibilities- Prepare veterinary tissue samples for diagnosis, including dissection, embedding, microtomy, and special staining.
- Work on one or several benches, depending on your knowledge and experience, to ensure efficient and accurate sample processing.
- Collaborate with colleagues to maintain a positive and respectful work environment, supporting each other to achieve common goals.
- 1+ year of experience working in a histology lab, with a strong understanding of complex tissue dissection and sample preparation.
- Associate's, Bachelor's, or Master's degree in a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- ASCP certification preferred, with a strong commitment to ongoing professional development.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced laboratory environment.
- Ability to meet the physical demands of working in a laboratory, including standing, sitting, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
- A competitive hourly rate of $27.00, with opportunities for advancement and professional growth.
- A flexible schedule, with a minimum commitment of 8 hours per month, including afternoons, evenings, nights, and weekends.
- A positive and respectful work culture, with a focus on teamwork, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
