Certified Recovery Specialist

Pyramid Healthcare Inc. is seeking a Certified Recovery Specialist to join our team. As a Certified Recovery Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals in their recovery journey from substance use disorder.
Job SummaryThe Certified Recovery Specialist will serve as a role model, mentor, advocate, and motivator to recovering individuals, helping them prevent relapse and promote long-term recovery. You will work closely with individuals, families, and staff to provide support and guidance throughout the recovery process.
Responsibilities- Assist individuals in establishing connections with community supports to facilitate initiation and ongoing engagement in the recovery process.
- Develop and solidify long-term recovery supports and provide services after, during, and following treatment episodes.
- Provide opportunities for individuals to direct their own recovery plan and supports, build self-worth, wellness, empowerment, and self-advocacy.
- Work with individuals, families, service providers, and community supports to achieve goals.
- Conduct regular sessions with individuals and motivate them to identify interests, strengths, and goals that promote a lifestyle of recovery.
- Empower individuals to achieve independence using a strengths-based approach.
- Provide consistent support and guidance after, during, and after treatment episodes as needed.
- Encourage individuals to identify and pursue educational and employment opportunities.
- Assist individuals in building or re-building positive, constructive relationships with family and other sober supports.
- Attend and participate in treatment team meetings, providing feedback on the individual's recovery perspective.
- Introduce and engage individuals in the recovery community, including sober social and recreational activities.
- Serve as an advocate for individuals, supporting and teaching self-advocacy skills.
- Promote community integration through the connection of resources, linking to supports, mutual-help groups, social clubs, volunteer, and job opportunities.
- Serve as a role model, sharing personal experience when appropriate with individuals, families, and staff.
- Offer guidance on the recovery experience, including stage-appropriate recovery education.
- Maintain accurate documentation regarding the individual's progress, goals, challenges, and utilization of skills and support.
- Offer support related to obstacles encountered during the early stages of recovery.
- Assist in the development, ongoing assessment, and updating of individualized recovery plans.
- Monitor the individual's recovery stability and offer referrals to treatment services when necessary.
- Attends continuing education requirements, 18 hours annually, including 30 hours over a 2-year period, which meets the PCB requirements for CRS re-certification.
- Meets the CRS training qualifications and provides documentation of completing the CRS training in entirety.
- One year of work experience in a substance abuse treatment facility. One year of direct peer support experience preferred.
