Job Summary

Nova Southeastern University is seeking a highly qualified and experienced individual to fill the position of Program Director. This is a key leadership role that requires a strong background in academic administration, program development, and faculty supervision.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and manage faculty members and administrative staff assigned to the program.
  • Develop and implement program goals, objectives, and policies in accordance with university and departmental guidelines.
  • Oversee the accreditation and self-study processes to ensure program compliance with relevant standards.
  • Teach in the classroom and in physical diagnosis/surgical labs, as needed.
  • Participate in and/or chair committees for the College of Health Care Sciences, University-wide committees, and/or for the Physician Assistant profession.
  • Work with the Dean, College of Health Care Sciences, Medical, Academic, and Clinical Directors to set program guidelines and objectives.
  • Manage the Physician Assistant Department budget, monitoring revenues and expenditures and adjusting the budget as needed.
  • Assist in the procurement of outside funding through grants and contracts, as appropriate.
Requirements
  • Hold current certification by the National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants.
  • Eligible for licensure as a Physician Assistant in the state of Florida.
  • Master's Degree in a related field.
  • Minimum five (5) years of clinical experience and a record of supervisory and administrative experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Doctoral degree in a related area of specialization.
  • Prior experience in training of Physician Assistant students.
