Position Overview

The Welding Technology Educator plays a crucial role in shaping the skills and knowledge of students enrolled in welding programs. This position encompasses a variety of responsibilities, including delivering high-quality instruction to both traditional and dual credit high school students, holding regular office hours, and facilitating classes that may extend into evenings or weekends, as well as hybrid and online formats.

  • Engagement: Foster an interactive learning environment that encourages student participation.
  • Professionalism: Uphold ethical standards and demonstrate professional conduct at all times.
  • Policy Adherence: Maintain a thorough understanding of and comply with institutional policies and procedures.
  • College Service: Contribute to the college community through committee involvement, student advising, and recruitment efforts.
  • Instruction: Deliver courses during the fall and spring semesters, including potential evening and weekend classes.
  • Mentorship: Provide guidance and support to dual credit partners and mentees.
  • Continuous Improvement: Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching effectiveness.
  • Curriculum Development: Assist in the creation and refinement of course materials as necessary.
  • Assessment Participation: Engage in evaluation activities related to the core curriculum.
  • Additional Duties: Undertake other related responsibilities as assigned.
Work Environment

This role is typically performed in a standard classroom or office setting, with moderate noise levels. Flexibility in working hours may be required during peak registration periods.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • An Associate Degree in Welding Technology or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of five years of relevant professional experience in Welding Technology.
  • Familiarity with effective teaching methodologies and pedagogical strategies.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
  • Excellent time management capabilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field.
  • Relevant industry certifications.
