Job Description

At Vanport Mechanical and Fire Sprinkler, we are seeking a skilled HVAC Technician to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing commercial HVAC systems. Our ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of commercial HVAC systems, including knowledge of blueprints and the ability to read and interpret them. Additionally, you will have a valid EPA Universal Certification and a clean driving record.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in bidding projects and conducting job walks
  • Install equipment according to project plans and scope of work
  • Oversee all aspects of project progression and execution to meet costs, schedule, and performance goals
  • Install, troubleshoot, test, maintain, and restore HVAC and Refrigeration systems and equipment based on job specifications and local codes
  • Ensure safety compliance of all on-site personnel
  • Display a positive, professional, and helpful attitude
  • Maintain a clean, organized job site and well-inventoried truck
  • Participate actively in all training and weekly meetings
  • Promote a team atmosphere while on projects
  • Be accurate and timely with invoices, time cards, curbside feedback, and option sheets

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of and ability to read blueprints on HVAC and refrigeration
  • HVAC/R Technician (EL06A in Washington, LEB in Oregon) with EPA Universal Certification
  • In-depth knowledge of commercial HVAC and Refrigeration systems and their operational principles
  • Proficiency in working with sheet metal to construct field transitions and manipulate ducting
  • Strong ability in both verbal and written communication
  • Possession of a clean and safe driving record
  • Required experience in installing split systems
  • Required experience working on/installing VRV and VRF systems
  • Required experience in installing Package Units
  • Required experience of 6+ years in the installation of commercial HVAC/R systems
  • Mandatory clean driving record
  • Successful completion of a clean background check
  • Satisfactory results from a clean drug screen
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Pay:

  • $35.00-$45.00/hour
  • + Performance-based bonus
