Are you passionate about enhancing the execution of IT initiatives? We are looking for a Desktop Engineering Project Manager to lead a significant Windows 11 upgrade initiative. The ideal candidate thrives in a dynamic environment, is eager for professional development, and is adept at managing extensive IT projects across various sectors within an Investor-Owned Utility client.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the field services team to establish a timeline and facilitate the deployment of a virtual Windows 11 upgrade for compatible devices or a hardware refresh for those that are not.
  • Create a centralized document repository, gathering business requirements from application services, infrastructure operations, desktop engineering, and information security.
  • Work closely with the desktop engineering lead to document testing protocols and success criteria, ensuring test results are recorded and maintained in a shared repository.
  • Maintain a RAID log and guide go/no-go decision-making processes.
  • Support Organizational Change Management (OCM) activities across service desk and technical support teams, while effectively communicating with business users in collaboration with the OCM group.
  • Direct project team members, oversee budget and schedule adherence, ensure compliance with contracts, and act as the primary customer liaison.
  • Manage the technical, financial, and scheduling aspects of assigned tasks.
  • Exhibit strong leadership skills that engage multidisciplinary teams to address business needs for assigned projects.
  • Oversee project teams that typically include multiple vendors with both onshore and offshore resources.
  • Develop project management plans, set clear expectations, conduct governance reviews, and ensure adherence to organizational procedures.
  • Ensure requirements are collected, documented, reviewed, and approved according to organizational and PMO standards.
  • Provide high-quality, informative written and verbal project communications, including weekly updates, dashboards, and project status reports.
  • Actively monitor, track, and manage project tasks, timelines, and the achievement of established milestones, while providing monthly forecasts and accruals.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Information Technology, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field. Additional relevant experience may substitute for formal education.
  • 6+ years of substantial Project Management experience.
  • Prior experience with Windows Upgrade projects.
  • Extensive Project Management experience managing financials, schedules, scope, and testing, coupled with strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Solid understanding of Project Management principles and practices.
  • Ability to cultivate and maintain relationships, partnerships, and external networks.
  • Capacity to work independently with minimal supervision while effectively collaborating within a team environment.
  • Exceptional customer-facing skills.
  • Strong research, decision-making, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proven analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Project or similar project management tools.
  • Commitment to confidentiality and adherence to data protection guidelines.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the utility sector is preferred.

Compensation Details:

  • Pay Rate / Range: $40 - $54.42

The salary range reflects the expected compensation for the position; however, final offers will consider various factors including responsibilities, candidate experience, education, skills, and market conditions.
