We are seeking a highly skilled Ophthalmic Technician to join our team at Billings Clinic. As an Ophthalmic Technician, you will play a critical role in providing technical and nursing assistance to our ophthalmologists and optometrists.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare patients for physician visits, including taking medical history, checking and recording visual acuity, and recording vital signs.
- Perform technical testing, including lensometry, keratometry, optical coherence tomography (OCT), and visual fields.
- Assist with contact lens insertion and removal training.
- Answer multi-line departmental telephones and triage calls to appropriate providers and departments.
- Schedule appointments, surgeries, and procedures.
- Order supplies and contact lenses and maintain adequate inventory.
- Prepare and set up rooms for minor procedures and assist physicians as needed.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures.
