Position Overview:
The Electrical Apprentice plays a vital role in supporting qualified electricians with various responsibilities related to the setup, upkeep, and troubleshooting of electrical systems in commercial and industrial environments. The individual will ensure that all tasks are performed in accordance with applicable regulations and standards, and will assist in material handling, site preparation, equipment arrangement, and site cleanup.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the loading and unloading of materials, tools, and equipment at job sites.
  • Transport materials and supplies to designated work areas as instructed by supervisory personnel.
  • Prepare work areas by removing debris, establishing temporary barriers, and ensuring proper access for equipment and personnel.
  • Help with excavating trenches and holes for electrical conduits and wiring under the guidance of experienced electricians.
  • Assist in the setup and dismantling of electrical equipment, scaffolding, and other temporary structures.
  • Responsible for cleaning, maintaining, and tracking tools, equipment, and work areas to promote safety and efficiency.

Qualifications:
  • Willingness to work extended and varied shifts as necessary.
  • Must acquire the minimum required tool set within 90 days of employment.
  • Ability to work in all seasons and conditions throughout the year, including exposure to extreme temperatures.
  • Capability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to climb stairs, bend, kneel frequently, and stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent is required.
  • Previous experience in the electrical field is highly desirable.
  • Must pass pre-employment tests, including background and drug screening.
  • Demonstrated attention to safety is essential.
  • Strong time management skills are required.
  • Willingness to obtain journeyman certification within 12 months following the completion of apprenticeship.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment with strong communication skills.
  • Reliable transportation is necessary.
