Definition and Class Characteristics

The Public Works Engineering Division is seeking a dedicated and skilled professional to join as a Senior Civil Engineer. This role involves overseeing the execution of the County's Capital Improvement Projects and developing plans and specifications for essential Public Works infrastructure, including roadway and bridge enhancements, as well as land development coordination within the County.

This position is classified as an advanced professional level role, responsible for managing a significant subdivision of the Engineering Division. The successful candidate will perform and supervise complex engineering tasks in both field and office settings, exercising substantial independent judgment.

Candidate Qualifications

Education and Experience Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a closely related discipline from an accredited institution AND a minimum of five years of professional civil engineering experience.
Licenses and Certificates:
  • Possession of a valid California driver's license within 30 days of hire.
  • Licensed as a Professional Civil Engineer in the State of California.
