Position Overview

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on geotechnical studies, Engineering Geology, Geological Engineering, or a related field.
  • Master's Degree in a relevant discipline is highly desirable.
  • Possession of a Professional Engineer (PE) license; if not licensed in Texas, must obtain Texas registration through the reciprocity process.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Professional Engineer in a leadership role, including authoring and reviewing engineering reports and approving engineering deliverables.
  • At least 6 years of cumulative experience in the geotechnical sector.
  • Experience in projects involving site development, foundation design, retaining structures, and pavement design, with a focus on private sector projects rather than public or transportation-related projects.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee all geotechnical projects within Texas, ensuring professional engineering standards are met:
    • Review and co-sign all proposals generated by yourself or the geotechnical team.
    • Review and seal all engineering documents prepared by yourself or the geotechnical team.
    • Delegate and supervise project tasks assigned to staff engineers, field professionals, and technicians.
  • Provide engineering support during the construction phase of testing and special inspection projects in Texas:
    • Review and approve letters of conformance and final inspection letters upon project completion.
    • Act as a technical consultant for troubleshooting during the construction phase.
  • Manage the Quality System for the laboratory to maintain AASHTO accreditation in Irving, TX:
    • Ensure adherence to the quality management system to meet AMRL and CCRL standards:
      • Control equipment inventory.
      • Conduct equipment calibration at specified intervals.
      • Evaluate lab and field personnel's competencies annually.
      • Oversee the AMRL and CCRL sample proficiency program.
      • Prepare personnel and facilities for scheduled AMRL and CCRL audits.
      • Draft Corrective Action Reports as necessary to comply with AMRL and CCRL requirements.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical assistance to other offices in the West Region and across the organization:
    • Review and co-sign proposals from other offices as needed.
    • Write reports for other offices when time permits.
  • Maintain Client Relationships:
    • Engage with clients and project teams daily, serving as a trusted advisor for their project requirements.
  • Participate in Industry Organizations:
    • Represent the company at local and national professional organization meetings.
