We are currently in search of a full-time Internal Medicine Veterinary Nurse to collaborate with our esteemed board-certified internists, delivering exceptional care to pets facing intricate medical challenges.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate autonomously under the supervision of the Internal Medicine specialist.
  • Assess all Internal Medicine appointments.
  • Prepare and discuss estimates with clients.
  • Understand the requirements of all Internal Medicine procedures and how to prepare for them.
  • Exhibit proficiency in technical skills such as venipuncture, catheter placement, and blood pressure monitoring.
  • Administer and oversee anesthesia.
  • Handle anesthetic emergencies during procedures.
  • Cross-train and assist in the client coordinator's responsibilities.
  • Field phone inquiries from clients, schedule Internal Medicine appointments, and manage prescription refills.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, Patient Care technicians, and staff veterinarians regarding in-house patients.
  • Create treatment sheets for hospitalized patients following the directives of the Internal Medicine Specialist.
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of the Internal Medicine suite.
  • Maintain appropriate inventory levels within the Internal Medicine suite.
  • Conduct routine care and maintenance of all Internal Medicine equipment.
  • Participate in all Internal Medicine department meetings.
  • Adhere to all policies and procedures as outlined in the company’s Employment Manual.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Veterinary Nurse certification/credentialing (CVT, LVT, RVT, VTS) preferred.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a veterinary environment, ideally in internal medicine.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of veterinary medicine, diagnostics, and treatments.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting.
  • Compassionate and caring demeanor towards animals and their owners.
  • Proficiency with veterinary software and technology.
