Position Overview

The Sanitation Operations Supervisor will oversee and coordinate sanitation teams to ensure compliance with essential sanitation standards for machinery, equipment, and facilities. This role is crucial in maintaining the integrity of plant operations and ensuring a clean working environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Team Management: Supervise and schedule multiple sanitation crews to meet operational needs and sanitation objectives.
  • Training and Development: Educate sanitation staff on safety protocols and sanitation practices to achieve and sustain high cleanliness standards.
  • Master Sanitation Schedule: Develop and uphold a comprehensive Master Sanitation Schedule, ensuring all cleaning frequencies are met.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for enhancement and lead initiatives to improve sanitation processes.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with various management teams, including FSQA, Plant, Maintenance, and Production Managers.
  • Safety Compliance: Communicate safety hazards and regulations to employees, ensuring adherence to safety measures.
  • Chemical Management: Maintain and monitor chemical inventory, liaising with suppliers for training and sanitation-related issues.
  • SSOP Development: Participate in the creation and auditing of Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs).
  • Policy Enforcement: Enforce safety and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) policies while ensuring exceptional cleanliness throughout the plant.
  • Validation and Verification: Conduct sanitation validations and verifications to ensure compliance with established standards.
  • Pest Control Management: Oversee the Pest Control Program to mitigate risks associated with pest infestations.
  • Waste Control Management: Manage the Waste Control Program and perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Ideal candidates will possess:

  • A minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in food sanitation or quality control, including supervisory roles.
  • Familiarity with cleaning methodologies such as Clean in Place (CIP) and Clean Out of Place (COP), as well as knowledge of temperature, timing, and chemical concentration.
  • Understanding of regulatory standards related to food production and sanitation, including FDA, USDA, HACCP, GMPs, and SSOPs.
  • Practical experience in sanitation practices.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is advantageous.
  • Strong computer skills, particularly in MS Office applications, are beneficial but not mandatory.
  • A proven ability to drive change and engage employees in process improvements.
