Job Summary:

Nixon Peabody is seeking an experienced paralegal to join our Affordable Housing and Real Estate practice groups. This team is working on cutting-edge and high-profile real estate and financing transactions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review title and survey commitments, respond to comments from counterparties, and perform due diligence.
  • Coordinate and implement transactions, work with team to close transactions, and order due diligence certificates and searches.
  • Work with title companies to finalize title policies, use project management tools, and track transaction tasks and phases.
  • Prepare signature page packets, coordinate signatures, and assist attorneys in preparation for and attendance at closings.
  • Prepare closing indices and binders, follow up on post-closing matters, and conduct research using general and legal research tools.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree and paralegal certificate or equivalent experience required.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience as an affordable housing or commercial real estate paralegal with finance experience.
  • Substantial Title and Survey experience, excellent organizational, communication, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
  • Exceptional drafting, proof-reading, and communication skills, ability to work independently and plan to accomplish objectives in a timely manner.
  • Must be a team player, effectively and efficiently using firm resources.

Salary Range:

Rochester, NY: $72,953 to $104,346
