Position Overview

Capital Bank is actively seeking a Financial Risk Analyst to enhance our team. This position will deliver exceptional service to internal Commercial Lenders through comprehensive analyses of personal and business financial statements, leveraging both internal and external technologies.

The focus will be on C&I Underwriting while supporting the CRE lending team in generating financial spreads. This role offers the possibility of a flexible hybrid work schedule.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop corporate financial spreads using the Bank's proprietary software.
- Construct personal net worth and debt analyses through Excel-based templates.
- Conduct narrative evaluations of corporate spreads to identify financial strengths and weaknesses.
- Assess personal net worth and contingent liabilities to evaluate guarantor strength.

- Collaborate with Commercial Lenders and approving officers to facilitate appropriate loan structures that meet client needs while mitigating risk to the Bank.

- Assist in preparing loan offering packages for approval.
- Execute collateral assessments.
- Participate in customer meetings and conference calls as required.
- Ensure compliance with internal Bank policies and procedures.
- Stay updated on legal, compliance, and market-risk issues related to credit approval.

- Work collaboratively with the team to resolve credit challenges and ensure that the final deliverables align with the Bank's standards and timelines.

- Attend Credit Loan Committee and other pertinent meetings.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Education & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of 3-5 years of experience as an Underwriter with a focus on C&I and exposure to CRE.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Experienced with Statement Analyzer Software Program (formerly Baker Hill) or similar financial statement analysis tools.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Highly analytical mindset.
- Capability to manage multiple tasks and deliver precise results within established timelines.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
