The Shipping Clerk role is essential for managing and documenting incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring that all items are prepared for dispatch in accordance with established quality and productivity standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Acquire necessary shipping supplies; assess shipment methods; verify identifying details and measure items for outgoing deliveries. Cross-check information against shipping documents to ensure precision.
  2. Securely package pallets and load them into transport vehicles. Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, or hand trucks to facilitate the movement of shipments. Direct received goods to appropriate departments.
  3. Update the ERP system to accurately reflect inventory transactions for both receipts and shipments.
  4. Prepare items for shipping in compliance with customer specifications.
  5. Inspect and unpack incoming shipments; verify items against shipping documents, and report any discrepancies or damages.
  6. Ensure products are ready for dispatch by weighing, packaging, and labeling them according to procedures.
  7. Perform physical tasks such as walking, reaching, bending, and lifting as necessary.
  8. Regularly lift and transport items weighing up to 50 lbs.
  9. Maintain equipment in a safe and operational condition.
  10. Execute additional plant-related tasks as required.

Qualifications:

  1. Must be a U.S. citizen or possess a valid work visa.
  2. High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
  3. Proficient in operating potentially hazardous equipment while adhering to safety protocols.
  4. Experience with forklifts and other transport vehicles is preferred.
  5. Basic computer skills are necessary for record-keeping.
  6. Ability to lift items weighing up to 50 lbs.
