Job Duties and Responsibilities:- Reports directly to the Director of Nursing
- Collaborates with the Director of Nursing to ensure compliance with established procedures and policies
- Works with the Director of Nursing to implement changes in nursing practices
- Participates in Quality Improvement initiatives with the Director of Nursing
- Provides safe and effective nursing care to assigned patients, as evidenced by documentation and positive patient outcomes
- Performs delegated and independent nursing functions using established procedures, policies, and guidelines
- Administers medication accurately, observing client response and documenting in the medical record
- Maintains effective communication among clients, staff, and physicians, as reflected in the medical record and client feedback
- Assists with client admissions and discharges
- Conducts MAR audits and ensures compliance with established procedures
- Collaborates with the healthcare team to ensure effective communication and coordination of patient care
- Answers and refers telephone calls and other inquiries to ensure accurate and timely communication
- Facilitates Health Education groups as needed
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Must be licensed by the State of Minnesota as a Registered Nurse
- Must understand and follow NBH's Drug and Alcohol Policy
- Must pass a State of Minnesota Background Check
- CPR Certification or attainment within 30 days
- Ability to use Microsoft Office programs and other computer skills
- Must understand the implications of 245G, sections 245A.65,, and, and Chapter 260E
