Position Overview: The Washington County Free Library is in search of a dedicated individual with expertise in custodial services. The primary responsibilities include maintaining cleanliness and hygiene throughout the facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collecting trash and ensuring waste disposal is managed effectively.
  • Performing sweeping, dusting, vacuuming, and both dry and wet mopping of floors.
  • Cleaning, sanitizing, and restocking restrooms to ensure a hygienic environment.
  • Washing windows and maintaining the tidiness of public and office spaces.
  • Assisting in the relocation of furniture or equipment as necessary for cleaning purposes.
  • Transporting cleaning supplies and waste materials as required.
  • Disinfecting and storing all cleaning equipment at the end of each shift.
  • Upholding the overall cleanliness of the building and assisting with grounds maintenance, including snow removal when needed.

Job Status: Part-time, approximately 20 hours per week.

Work Schedule: To be announced, including Fridays and alternating weekends.

Qualifications:

  • A high school diploma and a minimum of two years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to read, write, and follow instructions, or an equivalent combination of experience and training.

Skills Required:

  • Familiarity with general cleaning practices for buildings and grounds.
  • Proficiency in operating various motorized cleaning equipment, such as floor buffers and scrubbers.
  • Capability to follow simple oral and written instructions.
  • Physical ability to lift and move heavy items.

Additional Requirement: A valid motor vehicle operator's license is necessary.
