Job Summary

The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking a skilled Stone Mason to join our team. As a Stone Mason, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining Hokie Stone building envelopes and site walls to ensure the structural integrity of these systems and components.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install and repair Hokie Stone building envelopes and site walls
  • Perform maintenance activities to ensure the structural integrity of these systems and components
  • Work with the Hokie Stone Manager to ensure compliance with departmental policies and procedures

Requirements

  • Verifiable journey-level experience laying rubble stone and dimensionally sawn stone in barrier and cavity wall construction configurations
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to perform heavy manual labor, including safely moving and handling up to 100 pounds, or more with assistance
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work as an effective team member

Preferred Qualifications

  • Related experience in a large commercial or educational setting
  • Experience erecting scaffolding
  • Experience operating man lifts
  • Experience operating Lulls (all-terrain forklift)
  • Experience laying CMU and brick
  • Experience fabricating flashing components for barrier and cavity stone walls
