Job Summary

The Assistant Stone Mason will assist with the installation, repair, and maintenance of Hokie Stone building envelopes and site walls to ensure structural integrity. This role requires heavy manual labor, including moving and handling items up to 100 pounds, and working in various weather conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with Hokie Stone installation, repair, and maintenance activities
  • Work with scaffolding and elevated workstations
  • Perform heavy manual labor, including moving and handling items up to 100 pounds
  • Work in various weather conditions, including extreme temperatures
Requirements
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work as a team member
  • Ability to receive and execute instructions from supervisors and lead workers
  • May be required to work additional hours/shifts
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience laying rubble and dimensionally sawn stone in barrier and cavity wall construction configurations
  • Related experience in large commercial or educational settings
  • Experience erecting scaffolding and operating man lifts
  • Experience laying CMU and brick
  • Experience fabricating flashing components for barrier and cavity stone walls
Pay and Benefits

$36,000-$40,000 salary range
