Program Overview

The National Security Agency (NSA) is currently accepting applications for the Stokes Educational Scholarship Program, a tuition assistance program designed for high school seniors interested in pursuing degrees in Computer Science, Mathematics, Cybersecurity, and Computer or Electrical Engineering.

Program Benefits

  • Up to $30,000 per academic year for tuition and mandatory educational fees
  • Housing and travel benefits for students traveling over 75 miles from school to NSA
  • Summer employment at NSA for a minimum of 12 weeks in areas related to your course of study

Eligibility Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Preferred GPA of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities
  • Minimum SAT score of 600 (Evidence-Based Reading and Writing, Math) or ACT score of 25, or equivalent College Board Score (if taken)

Additional Requirements

  • High School transcripts must show a minimum of one Physics or Calculus course, and a combination of two courses (minimum) of either Computer Science, Computer Programming, or Engineering for Computer Science, Computer Engineering, and Electrical Engineering
  • High School transcripts must show one Physics AND one Calculus course, and a combination of two courses (minimum) of either Computer Science, Computer Programming, or Engineering for Mathematics
  • High School transcripts must show a minimum of three years of coursework in cybersecurity or computer science for Cybersecurity

Commitment and Obligations

  • Students accepted into the program must maintain at least a 2.75 GPA on a 4.0 scale each semester/quarter in the freshman year and a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale each semester/quarter after the freshman year
  • Students are required to work in their area of study at NSA after college graduation for at least one-and-a-half times their length of study
  • Students who resign from the program prior to satisfying their commitment will be required to pay back the government for their tuition and mandatory educational fees
