Job Summary

Shenandoah Medical Center seeks a highly skilled and experienced Anesthesiology Specialist to join our team. As a CRNA (Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist), you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and anesthesia services in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Anesthesia Services: Administer general anesthetics to render patients insensible to pain during surgical, obstetrical, and other medical procedures.
  • Patient Care: Monitor vital signs during the course of procedure, take necessary action to ensure a near-normal physiological status of the patient, and assist in moving patients from the operating room to the recovery area.
  • Medication Management: Administer medications, treatments, and procedures in a timely and safe manner according to healthcare provider orders and nursing policy.
  • Documentation: Document accurate and ongoing assessments of patient status, reflect nursing interventions, patient responses, patient teaching, and status of outcomes at discharge.
  • Communication: Communicate and collaborate effectively with other healthcare team members regarding patient condition, nursing plan of care, patient satisfaction needs, and recommendations for meeting identified outcomes.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) and a Master's degree in Nurse Anesthesia (MSN) or a Doctoral degree in Nursing (DNP) with a focus on Nurse Anesthesia.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience as a CRNA in a hospital setting.
  • Certifications: Current certification as a CRNA and current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of practice.
