Job Title:

The Groundperson is a vital member of our utility line clearance team, responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient removal of vegetation from power lines and other infrastructure. This role requires a strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate chainsaws and other equipment to cut and remove vegetation from power lines and other infrastructure.
  • Feed brush and debris into wood chippers to facilitate efficient removal.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure a safe working environment.
  • Maintain equipment and vehicles in good working order, adhering to strict safety protocols.
Requirements:
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must be willing to join the local union and pay union dues.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous experience in a related field is a plus.
Working Conditions:

The Groundperson will work in a variety of environments, including forests, fields, and urban areas. The role requires the ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in extreme weather conditions. Personal protective equipment will be provided and must be worn at all times.
