We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Housekeeper to join our team at WVU Medicine. As a key member of our Environmental Services department, you will play a critical role in maintaining a clean and safe environment for our patients, visitors, and staff.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate with nursing staff and supervisors to ensure timely and efficient cleaning of patient rooms, including daily cleaning, damp mopping or vacuuming floors, and spot cleaning stains.
- Clean and disinfect restrooms, including basins, commodes, tubs, and showers, as well as mirrors, soap dishes, and water pipes.
- Perform periodic cleaning of high ledges, ceiling and light fixtures, and vents, as well as dry and damp mopping or machine scrubbing corridors and elevator landings.
- Assist with heavy cleaning throughout the hospital, including sweeping stairwells and spot washing corridor and landing walls.
- Check equipment condition upon sign out and clean equipment upon return, reporting any needed maintenance or repair.
- Assist in meeting set-ups, hanging curtains, picking up trash, hazardous waste, and recyclable trash, and washing trash containers in assigned areas.
- Maintain all floors and carpets, including setting up meetings and checking the condition of equipment.
- Lift weight of 25-30 pounds.
- Able to bend, squat, stoop, and stand for a period of 7 to 12 hours.
- Ability to read and follow instructions.
- Must be able to follow direction as given.
- Must be able to communicate with other employees and patients in a proper manner.
