About the Position:

Northeast Family Services is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Child Development Specialist to join their team in New Hampshire. As a valuable member of our team, you will work closely with families affected by abuse and neglect, providing critical support and guidance to help them achieve their goals.

Job Summary:

">

We are looking for an experienced and skilled individual who can provide 1:1 parenting coaching and supportive counseling, health and safety education, basic parenting education, and coordination of services to facilitate change. This is a flexible position, with most visits taking place during afterschool/evening hours and occasional weekends.

Key Responsibilities:

  • ">
  • Develop and implement treatment plans to address child development needs.">
  • Provide 1:1 parenting coaching and supportive counseling to enhance parental skills.">
  • Conduct health and safety assessments and educate families on healthy habits.">
  • Collaborate with DCYF, children, families, and community providers to ensure positive outcomes.">
  • Support families in accessing community resources to meet social, medical, educational, vocational, and financial needs.">
  • Document visit notes, contact logs, and monthly reports.">
  • Participate in team and/or committee meetings.">
  • Manage client behavior, foster independence, and maintain perspective.">

Requirements:

  • ">
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience working with families or an Associate's Degree in Human Services or a related field with 2 years of experience working with families.">
  • Must be at least 22 years old.">
  • Ability to understand and follow policies and procedures.">
  • Understanding of and ability to work positively with children and parents with mental health challenges, substance abuse, and/or intellectual disabilities.">
  • Reliable attendance for scheduled hours and flexibility to cover additional hours.">
  • Ability to manage client behavior, foster independence, and maintain perspective.">
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.">
  • Ability to use technology and electronic health records for documentation.">
  • A valid driver's license and automobile insurance.">
